College students planning to live in a dorm or rent an apartment for this upcoming semester might want to check into getting a renters insurance policy. This will cover any of  your personal belongings inside the residence your renting including furniture, books or computers. So in the case of a break in or fire all of your personal belongings (anything not attached to the apartment or dorm) will be covered. Its way cheaper to pay $10-$20 a month for the renters insurance rather than to risk having to buy all new things out of pocket.
